There is joy in serving Christ Once you are born again by believing all of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done for you- death, burial, resurrection- you then begin to serve Him. You can’t help but do so if you truly love Him. Ephesians 2:8-10 “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before-hand, that we should walk in them.”
I have recently met people who say they are believers (perhaps- for I’m not the judge) and they are so thankful for His grace and then say they can live the way they want to and it doesn’t matter. That is ludicrous and living a lie. Once we belong to our Lord Jesus we will want to love Him more each moment and in turn one cannot help but serve Him- what the Bible calls good works. They are good because all we then do is in and through HIS resurrected power (the abiding Holy Spirit). This brings God glory- is why. We are created (Isaiah 42 and 43). So we get it right- we are saved by grace through faith and not works. Works become extremely important once He has saved us because through His leading we bring Him glory. Praise God for a tremendous Savior we serve. DK
